Making Tiramisu Magic

For those eager to bring a slice of Italy to your dessert table, here’s a simple Tiramisu recipe to get you started:

Ingredients:

Servings:8
  • 8(130 gr) egg yolk
  • 750 gr mascarpone cheese
  • Ladyfingers
  • 350 ml whipping cream
  • 160 gr sugar
  • Cold espresso coffee
  • Salt as required
  • Cocoa  powder as required

Instructions:

  1. In a heatproof bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar.
  2. Add the mascarpone cheese to the egg yolk and sugar cream and beat until smooth and well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until smooth. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
  4. Dip each ladyfinger into the espresso coffee quickly (about 2 seconds), making sure not to soak them too much.
  5. Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish or individual serving glasses.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers layer.
  7. Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  8. Cover and refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
  9. Before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
